My Thoughts 💭
I am writing this post after being completely stunned by just listening to an Alice Cooper song that I spent most my adult years (aged 14-30) listening to, singing to and rocking out to, but had no idea what it meant! I simply can’t believe this and how I could ever miss it!
This instantly brought me to the verse below and got me thinking just how thick the veil must be as I wore it for so long. I sit here in complete disbelief that I could have missed what the song is about and I knew every word. This is the first time I have heard this song as a Christian and it just stopped me in my tracks,
📖 Verse 4 2day ~ 2 Corinthians 4:3(NIV)
And even if our gospel is veiled, it is veiled to those who are perishing.
📓 Lyrics 4 2day!
Alice Cooper ~ Prince of Darkness Lyrics:
An angel fell one stormy night
From Heaven’s Glory
He split the earth to reign in Hell
He fears the light
He fears the truth
He fears what’s going to be
He spits on life
He spits on God
He spits up death for you and me
Prince of Darkness
Studies the world with hungry eyes
Prince of Darkness
Ready to baptize you in lies
Heart of evil, soul of blackness
Prince of Darkness
He saw that man was just a boy
With a baby’s mind
He swore damnation of God’s creation
He lives for hate
He lives for tears
He lives up to his name
He knew the light
He knew the one
Who was crucified in pain
Prince of Darkness
Studies the world with hungry eyes
Prince of Darkness
Ready to baptize you in lies
Heart of evil, soul of blackness
Prince of Darkness
He fears the light
He fears the truth
He fears what’s going to be
He spits on life
He spits on God
He spits up death for you and me
Prince of Darkness
Studies the world with hungry eyes
Prince of Darkness
Ready to baptize you in lies
Heart of evil, soul of blackness
Prince of Darkness
He smells the breath
Of sweet human sin
And deeply breathes it in
Prince of Darkness
More Thoughts 💭
I feel pretty silly revealing this to you but I felt I needed to share this, I have read this verse so many times just lately as I am praying for the salvation of my family, but today I sit amazed how the word of God is right there in everything, and they simply can’t see it through the veil.
The irony is that I was fully sighted when I was blind to the truth, and now I am registered blind I can see! 😀
Alice Cooper certainly nailed the description of Satan. Thankfully Cooper nails the truth about the One nailed for us as well! Great Post!
Thanks for the comment! Glad you enjoyed! 😀
This was a really interesting blog! So well written, it’s true with songs, sometimes you don’t know what they are saying. I grew up Christian and so I would look up lyrics when I liked a song haha! In high school I was considered a goody two shoes because I wouldn’t do or listen to what others did. I’m so proud of you for fighting through the demons 🙂
Wow, thanks for sharing. its such an amazing journey. I just can’t believe that God was there with me all along. I never went to church or was even taught about Jesus, and now i see him in everything! 😀
That’s truly amazing 🙂
Reblogged this on Daddy's Little Brat and commented:
Wonderful Post! It’s amazing how often God can be found even when we are not looking for Him.
Thank you so much for the Reblog! 😀 His timing is perfect!
You’re very welcome! Thank you for the post! 🙂
I used to listen to Alice Cooper, too. Recently, I read an article that said he was involved in youth music ministry. I think his daddy was a preacher…
Yeah i have just listened to his audiobook “Golf Monster” after someone recommended it to me on my post about his testimony. Its a good read of how the prodigal son returned home! 😀
Wow Steve, this is haunting. Thank you, and thank you Jesus for tearing the veil! And thank you Lord for the vision you have given Steve. Give him a double portion Lord, let him see the goodness of God in the land of the living, in Jesus Name.
Amen! 😀
Thanks for sharing … what you said moved me deeply … as just the other day, I was looking at the lyrics I listened to when I was at the darkest moments of my life … It hit me like a ton of bricks seeing how even then God was speaking … amazing God … amazing grace 🙂
Thanks for the comment. Its amazing how he can speak through music, its so encouraging to hear about your experiences too! 😀

Thanks, i’ll check this out! 😀
Amen! I never listened to Alice Cooper but you are correct, the lyrics are incredible. It is all there and yet we were blind to the truth. Thank you for posting!
Thanks, yeah i love the lyrics too, so powerful! 😀
